With spaces ranging from leading-edge simulation labs to flexible lecture halls, this dynamic teaching facility accommodates a variety of programming in a collaborative learning environment. The facility consolidates the university’s allied health science programs while remaining flexible enough to meet the needs of several departments.

This signature four-story campus building, prominently located on TSU’s academic quad, consolidates the university’s allied health science programs while remaining flexible enough to meet the needs of several departments. It features collaborative learning space, instructional space for nursing, OT, PT, additional classroom space for health science disciplines and a tiered lecture hall with flexible seating to accommodate anywhere from 60 to 120 students. A gait lab, simulation labs, soft study labs, computer labs and administrative office space are also included. Labs and faculty offices are located on the same floor to promote interaction between students and professors, while open stairs foster activity and connection between floors. The building’s concourse, which faces TSU’s academic quad, features ample glass that provides sweeping views of campus and fills the building with natural light. The concourse also visually connects the Health Sciences Building to the surrounding campus, echoing the open and collaborative design of the various classroom and lab spaces. With ample lab, classroom and office space, this building meets the needs of the various health science departments and offers a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.

1- Exterior view, the health sciences center is situated in a main campus quarter, complete with sidewalks and trees providing shade for students and visitors. Seating areas a situated around the exterior, providing study and social space for all students.

2- The first new campus building in nearly 20 years, the exterior of this monumental building responds to the context of the established campus, while pointing to the future of education.

3- Multiple entrances, stairs and sidewalks are accented by seating areas and landscaping. This addresses the grade of the site while offering a welcoming environment for students and staff.

4- The spacious central lobby features a monumental staircase and seating.

5- The large, central staircase is accented by unique lighting elements. Breakout and mixed-use space is located on the landings at various levels.

6- Serving both health science and other students, this facility provide the study, meeting and breakout spaces needed for a quick study session or for a break between classes.

7- Large floor to ceiling windows provide natural light, and views of the surrounding campus.

8- The facility features hands-on health science learning opportunities, with multiple instruction and lab spaces.

9- A large tiered lecture hall can function both as classroom and function space.

10- Indoor and outdoor mixed-use space, unified by large windows offers natural lighting and space for studying.

11- The building contains collaborative learning space, instructional space for nursing, OT, PT and additional classroom space for health science disciplines.

12- Simulation labs are also featured, utilizing the latest in health science learning technology.

13- Exposed building elements combine with large windows, offering a modern and industrial feel to the space.
