Celebrating the spirit of Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, T3 and the Residences at the Finery are an urban tapestry of uses, experiences, materials, and construction methodologies.

T3 (named for key considerations: timber, transit, and technology) is an innovative 200,000-square-foot, seven-story, mass timber structure providing creative office space with ground-floor retail. T3 is constructed of Mass Timber with a Dowel Laminated Timber (DLT) floor structure above a concrete podium with a 200-space parking garage. DLT is a structurally efficient, rapidly renewable, and economic mass timber panel. The exposed Mass Timber recalls the warmth and familiarity of historic heavy timber buildings while utilizing modern methodologies and a forward-looking approach to construction.

The design for T3 acknowledges and interprets the neighborhood’s industrial heritage and varied scales of development into a façade pattern made of bronze anodized aluminum panels. Additionally, a large-scale welding arm salvaged from the site’s previous building is located on the street along the front landscaping strip to honor the neighborhood’s history.

The Residences at the Finery sets a new standard for apartment living in Nashville, responding to its surrounding context of dynamic and fast-growing Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood. The six-story, 415,963 square-foot development includes 383 units that rest on ground floor office, retail, and amenity space and lines a 640-space parking garage with a resident’s pool deck on top.

The design for the Residences at the Finery was inspired by the bold residents of the neighborhood, which is primarily comprised of artists, makers, musicians, and entrepreneurs. To reduce the scale of the development, the massing is broken down into three forms: the grounded, rusticated, and rationally ordered West Building, the bright-colored, playfully composed, and elevated East Building which is lifted above a glass-walled mixed-use base, and the North Building which responds to the descending topography along Gray Street.
